THE SHOW

INSIDE DIVERSITY:Real People, Unscripted Conversations believes that by bringing diverse people together to share candid, unscripted conversations on today’s most divisive issues we create a deeper understanding and acceptance of each other.Over 9 episodes this series seeks to break down stereotypes and move beyond buzzwords toward a deeper understanding and appreciation of people as individuals.

PRODUCTION

Using a combination of round table conversations and one-on-one interviews, INSIDE DIVERSITY shows that while we all have different and unique lived experiences, we also have a lot in common like a desire to be respected and appreciated as our authentic selves.

CASTING

Participants were drawn from a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences across the spectrum of age, race, gender, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, and disability, and transgender status. What they all had in common was a compelling perspective on the topics and a willingness to engage in open, frank, and far-reaching conversations.

We owe a special debt of gratitude to all our cast who gave their time, their passion, and most importantly their stories. INSIDE DIVERSITY  wouldn’t have been possible without them.

FIRE STARTER’S TRADITION OF DOCUMENTARY FILMMAKING

Documentaries have long been a passion for us at Fire Starter. In fact one of our first productions after founding the company was the 2-time Primetime Emmy Nominated National Endowment for the Arts: United States of Arts.

Our hope with INSIDE DIVERSITY is to engage people with the topics of race, bias, equity, gender identity, inclusion, disability, belonging, authenticity, microaggressions, covering, passing, and others in a way that celebrates our diversity and individuality while highlights what we all share as human beings.
